Counseling Resources

  • Care Solace

    • The Fox Chapel Area School District is committed to the social and emotional health and well-being of our students, staff, and families, with the goal of continuing to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for all. In support of that ongoing commitment, we have partnered with Care Solace to provide an additional layer of mental health resources for the members of our school community.

    • Care Solace helps individuals find mental health care providers and substance use treatment centers. Its Care Companion team is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year to quickly connect those in need to carefully verified providers.

    • Students, staff, and families may access Care Solace services in three ways:
      • Parents/guardians can call (888) 515-0595 at any time. Support is available in more than 200 languages. A dedicated Care Companion will help individuals in need every step of the way to research options, secure appointments, and follow up to make sure it is a good fit.
      • Parents/guardians can do an anonymous search and answer a few questions to get matched with an extensive list of care providers at www.caresolace.com/foxchapel.
      • A Fox Chapel Area School District staff member can refer a student (with parent/guardian permission) through the school counseling office to Care Solace.

    • Care Solace is available at no cost to the members of our school community. Its professionals will connect individuals with providers accepting all medical insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare, and sliding scale options for those without insurance. All information entered on the Care Solace tool is completely confidential and securely stored.

    • Please note, this service is an optional resource available by choice and is not mandatory to use. Care Solace is not an emergency response service or mental health services provider. In the event of a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or the 9-8-8 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

    • Any additional questions about Care Solace can be directed to your child’s school counselor or to Fox Chapel Area School District’s Director of Special Education and Pupil Services at timothy_mahoney@fcasd.edu.
